Edible Bouquets

We often associate Valentine’s with flowers, chocolates, romantic dinners and dates. Simply because love surpasses all boundaries such as race, color and sometimes even religion. It is the only day in the year when people have an excuse to be mushy and romantic. Well, that is the case for most but there are still a number of people who believe otherwise. Nonetheless, sales of romantically related products still skyrocket during Valentine’s Day.

If you are looking for something unique, fruit bouquets or edible bouquets are definitely a good choice. They don’t only look good, they taste good too. These healthy gifts will definitely please any recipient. There are many specialty stores that sell them all over the world. You can even make your own if you have the time.

Strawberries, grapes, melons, honeydews, oranges, apples and kiwis are the most common fruits used in edible bouquets. Each bouquet may vary depending on your choice and the availability of the fruits. We all know that some fruits are seasonal, while tropical fruits such as pineapples can be limited or pricey. Most stores adapt to local tastes by adding locally produced fruits. In the Middle East for example, you can expect dates in their fruit bouquets.

The fresh fruits are cut and arranged to resemble floral arrangements. Chocolate dipped fruits may also be included for added design and taste. You can never go wrong with edible gifts. Most people love fruit and appreciate them. These beautifully crafted bites can serve as appetizers or desserts for parties too. You can even buy them for yourself as a treat.

What You Shouldn’t Wear to Work

A conservative black form-fitting suit shows stylishness, while short skirts and stilettos show that you get around. Putting on the appropriate ensemble will help you send me the right message. Here are some items which you should avoid wearing to work:

Sexy Outfits

Sexy is a word defined in many ways. It may not necessarily be revealing, but it can exude sexiness. What should be avoided though are clothes that resemble lingerie. Lacy camisoles or bustier type shirts must only be worn on night outs. It can be distracting for some people, so it is best to cover it up with a fitted jacket or cardigan so people will not get the wrong impression.

Gym Clothes

Some say that casual wear does not belong at the office, but some companies allow their employees to be themselves. It is okay to be comfortable, but it is best to steer away from tank tops, yoga pants and spandex shorts. Running shoes, track jackets and sweatshirts may be used sparingly or dusting casual days

Shimmery Clothes

Unless you are planning to go on a night out or you have a performance, sequined or shiny clothes are definitely not for work. Patent leather belts, bags or shoes can give off shimmer and they are friendlier alternatives. Earrings can also add a subtle bling.

Statements Shirts

People in the workplace may have different perspectives, so it is best to stay clear of topics or issues which may raise eyebrows. Standing out is as easy as adding color to what you wear.

Too Much Perfume

Your co-workers may be sensitive to strong smells. You can use scented lotion for a more subtle scent or simply spray conservatively. One or two spritzes will do to get you through the day.

What we usually wear is a reflection of our personality; even the most boring gray suit can be glammed up by accessories –scarves, jewelry and the likes. It also shows our level of professionalism. The way we dress is our packaging on how we want others to perceive us.

Stockholm Metro

The Stockholm Metro or Stockholms tunnelbana is “the longest art exhibition in the world”. It opened in the 1950’s and is 105.7 kilometers long. The Metro has 100 stations, 53 above ground and 47 underground.

The concept begun to expose people to art, but later on it gave the subway system a more positive vibe. Commuters felt that it was safer and what better way to start the day than to see sights that appeal to the senses. The best part is that in a way it helped reduce crime. In the metro, you can see paintings, installations, mosaics, sculptures and inscriptions dating from the 1950’s. These wonderful masterpieces were done by hundreds of artists.

The showcased artworks at 90 of the 100 stations are remarkable because of their large scale, design and how it blends in or should I stay stick out, making the whole place unique. Multi-colored arrows show the way and  there are rainbow painted walls, bright red ceilings, which seem to ‘weigh down’ on the platform like billowing flames, a spruce forest which stretches a kilometer long and ancient-looking statues carved on the walls.

For Stockholm residents, it is a normal sight they see daily, but if you are just visiting you may take guided tours which will take you to four to five stations. They are done by Metro experts at an affordable price or you may purchase a ticket at T-Centralen and take the blue line to see the Rådhuset and Fridhemsplan stations. After, take the same line back to see the Kungsträdgården station.
